Setting up Atom to open files in one window?

I just tried Atom for the first time, and it is obsessing for me that Atom continues to open a new window for each file that I click on - I would prefer it to open every file in the same window by default.

I hope for something like "open_files_in_new_window" : false, in Sublime. Unfortunately, all the google results I see are just complaining that this switch is not immediately obvious.

Go to "Settings"> "Packages", find the package of tabs . In the settings for this package, select " use preview tabs ."

In the terminal, you can enter atom -a <filename||folder> and the file will open in the same atom window.
