Can I override the trial version of VS15 Enterprise using a professional key?

The title says everything, I installed a trial version of VS15 Enterprise and signed a contract with my account to get a 90-day trial. Now it is coming to an end, and I put the professional key, thinking that it can lower functionality, as a colleague told me that he was quite sure that he did the same.

It doesn't work, so I'm just wondering if anyone can confirm if I need to reinstall VS15 (but the professional version)?

I would like to add that this is really possible. Please check Adam's answer to the question:

If you previously installed VS Pro, just like me, you could go to "Add or Remove Programs" and select "Microsoft Visual Studio Enterprise with Updates." Modify-> Uninstall works great for me.

It’s just for those who can be here, in the end, I personally reinstalled Professional, because he just did not play the ball - but I'm not sure if there is any other magic that could be done.
