I have 2 screens and I connect to vncserver, which runs on a centos computer with VNC Viewer (v5.2.1) from my Windows laptop. This opens a window in which I can move from one screen to another. I would like the session to use both screens, and this did not mean:
(a) 2 separate VNC sessions connected to 2 vncservers on each screen
(b) 1 VNC window is stretched over 2 screens
(c) Using something like Xming
The reason I donโt like the above workarounds is because with (a) I canโt move windows from one session to another, and I also canโt open eclipse on both of them (eclipse doesn't like working in two different copies).
With (b) this is very inconvenient, since the screens are not perfectly aligned, and every window I try to maximize is maximized on both screens, and I have to manually adjust the windows for each screen, not to mention that the material is annoyingly cut by the gap between two screens.
The workaround (c) gives me what I need from the point of view of working with screens, but it has one major drop, and the fact that my sessions will not survive when my laptop reboots (while vncserver is running, the remote stable machine centos I can always connect to the same session).
Please note that I know about the solution:
- Check "Full Screen" in VNC Viewer> Options> Advanced> Display
- Set "UseAllMonitors" to True in the VNC Viewer> Options> Advanced>
Expert.
This gives me a workaround (b) , which is not what I am looking for.
Thanks for any help.
