5 years ago there was the same question that everyone answered "No, you canโt, this is the sandbox of iOS", in general, then it was iOS 5, but now is 2016, and iOS 9.3 fits the same question:
My application needs to know information (tittle, artist, album) on how to play the system now, which means that it needs to support any player, for example, the built-in Apple Music or Spotify, Bandcamp and much more. I tried to access MPMusicPlayerController.nowplayingitem , but it only works with the Apple Music app, I tried to call MPNowPlayingInfoCenter , and as I understand it, it just allows me to set some information in the Control Center and lock the screen if your application is now running on iOS but if not, it returns nil .
Is there any way to do this? Quick replies are welcome.
