Using OpenVAS, if I try to target a localhost or ip router on my local network, everything is fine and the task ends, but if I try to scan a public IP address, it stops at 1% or 2%.
This is my configuration:
Kali 2.0 64bit for VMWare
Network in Bridge
Pre-installed OpenVAS 8
Some information (netstat):
root@kali :~# netstat -tlp Active Internet connections (only servers) Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address State PID/Program name tcp 0 0 localhost:9390 *:* LISTEN 8560/openvasmd tcp 0 0 localhost:9391 *:* LISTEN 8561/openvassd: Wai tcp 0 0 localhost:9392 *:* LISTEN 8559/gsad
And "check the setting":
root@kali :~
This probably could help me, but a search on Google and here on StackOverflow did not find anything: WARNING: OpenVAS Manager only works and listens on the local interface.
What can I check and what can I do to scan the public ip?
Given my limited Linux skills, I ask you to be very specific. thanks
