Create a user interface similar to Apple Reminders

Question

I am making an application that would benefit from a layout similar to the Apple Reminders application.

My best guess is that each reminder group has its own tabular view, whose colored name is the title. Apparently, the table view is not populated until the group is selected. - Perhaps each table is displayed using a special modal presentation of segue?

Groups themselves can be scrolled and act as if they were also a tableView.

Any ideas on how this was achieved, and if there are demo applications with similar functionality?
