Finding the exact date in the Algolia Index

I want to filter the index by the exact attribute value. I wonder what opportunities Algolia offers for this.

Querying the index always leads to the search for substrings, which means that the search term abc will always match any object whose attribute values contain abc . What I want to achieve is an abc search, which finds only abc as the attribute value (in this case, I have certain attributes to search for).

One of the possibilities I came across is tagging, which seems to be not the best way to think.

Edit

I think I could also use faceted filters. I was thinking about different pros and cons and I can’t come up with arguments that put one position above another.

You are correct in your editing that facet filters will be the way to do this. You will get the exact match you are looking for, and he won’t need to create a new _tags attribute to use the tag filter.
