Is Microsoft terminating, discounting or discounting the SSIS OLEDB service provider with ODBC?

In 2011, there were reports that access to Microsoft SQL Server OLEDB was retiring, now I heard that it is outdated since SQL SERVER 2014? However, on the MSDN pages below, there are no hidden features in SSIS 2012-2016. I also check the deprecation pages for SQL SERVER 2012-2016, it is also not mentioned.

However, the MSDN blog seems insistent:

Deprecation OLE DB is now deprecated. See Announcing New OLE DB Driver for SQL Server

Microsoft previously announced the abandonment of the Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server, which is part of its SQL Server Native Client (SNAC). At that time, this decision was made to try to provide more simplicity for the developer’s story around developing software for Windows as we moved into the cloud age using the Azure SQL database and tried to use the JDBC and ODBC similarities for developers. However, during subsequent reviews it was determined that because the essential scripts in SQL Server are still dependent on OLE DB, and changing these conditions will break some existing script clients.

Given this, we decided to abandon OLE DB and the new version for the first quarter of the calendar year 2018.

It was released in one day to save.
