DrawerLayout navigation box not displayed

Question

I am trying to display a navigation box on a toolbar. As I think, I already wrote everything that he needs, but nothing is displayed on the toolbar. Just a text zoo. No icon to display the navigation bar

I am new to android and it will not be a surprise for me if I missed something.

The problem is this line:

 getSupportActionBar().setDisplayShowHomeEnabled(true); 

For your current setup, this should be:

 getSupportActionBar().setDisplayHomeAsUpEnabled(true);

Instead, you can use a constructor with five parameters for Toggle and pass your Toolbar object as the third argument.

 mActionBarDrawerToggle = new ActionBarDrawerToggle(this, mDrawerLayout, toolbar, R.string.drawer_opened, R.string.drawer_closed) {...}; 

In this case, you can omit the ActionBar support calls set*() and onOptionsItemSelected(item) to check Toggle. This is useful if your Toolbar not installed as an ActionBar support. However, the documentation recommends a four-parameter constructor and therefore your current setup if the Toolbar installed as such.
