Xamarin android player failed to initialize vboxmanag device

I recently installed xamarin-android for developing applications for Android, but after a full installation, when I open the pager for xamarin, it gives the following error ...

**** Android player xamarin could not initialize vboxmanag device ****

Can someone help me or say what I can do.

I am running Windows 10 Pro and using Oracle VBox v. 5.0.4 . if your case is the same with me: first, you need to uninstall the current version of Oracle VBox, and then install a new version that already supports Windows 10. I am using v. 5.1. You can download it here.

just try restarting the emulator.

I found information about Google Googling that can help launch the device in Android Player. I have version 0.6.5 of the player.

  • Open VirtualBox directly as suggested by Cook Data. You will receive a REAL error message that could be related to vt-ix ....

  • Make sure the BIOS has enabled aka vt-ix virtual technology. Just reboot and you should find it in bios setup - perhaps under advanced. AMD and INTEL have slightly different names.

  • Reduce the system memory of the device you want to start with 1024 MB if it is currently 2048 MB

I also received a warning about video memory, which I increased to 10 MB from 8 MB

My setup is working on Hyper-V, which has its drawbacks, so YMMV and I just started this work today ...

For Windows 10 users (After activating Bios virtualization) Use VirtualBox 5.1.14 https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads
