Configure Python Anaconda proxy via .condarc file on Windows

I'm having problems with the Anaconda proxy for installing conda on a Windows 7 computer. How do I use a proxy?

I had to create a .condarc file in the C:\Users\username folder.

Use the copy con .condarc file if it does not exist in the folder above.

File contents:

 proxy_servers: http: http://username: [e-mail] :8080 https: https://username: [e-mail] :8080 

Two notes:

• Do not use tabs, there should be a space between http: and http://...
• You may not have a proxy username and password. Leave the username:password part and it will work anyway

In Windows 10, you need to additionally configure the domain name in .condarc:

 channels: - admin show_channel_urls: true allow_other_channels: true proxy_servers: http: http://domainname\username: password@proxyserver :port https: http://domainname\username: password@proxyserver :port ssl_verify: true

On windows 10, the car too. The following accepted response format gives a boot error, invalid YAML.

Changing '//' to '\' fixed the problem for me.

 proxy_servers: http: http:\username: [e-mail] :8080 https: https:\username: [e-mail] :8080

In my case, on a Linux machine, behind the McAfee web gateway proxy server for conda, only the following setting worked (I deleted the http proxy): hostname: ~ # cat.condarc proxy_servers: https: https: // domain \ user: password @ server port

hostname # conda install tenorflow Environment Solution: Complete
