The documentation was wrong, you cannot reference the pom.xml profile directly from pom.xml . Thanks for noticing, we fixed it.
In the case of a Maven project, you need to open it in IDEA, define a validation profile, export the profile to an XML file, and transfer it to the project version control. In the runer settings of TeamCity Inspections, specify the path to the XML file of the verification profile relative to the project root.
