Is it possible to update the iOS application file while the application is still in sight?

Is it possible to update the file after the initial sending of the iOS application to the application store?

We have a stable version of the new application, ready to be sent, but I wonder if we can publish the update with new features, even when the application is under review after several days of the initial submission. Or do we need to wait until the application is approved first to send the update?

You can reject your first binary and upload a new one. Your position in the view queue will be reset. If you are worried about the release date more than about your stability fixes, you can simply send the update immediately after its release to the application store.

App Store Subscription Tips

Change the status of your application - "Developer refused" and "Developer Removed from sale"

Once you have submitted your binary, iTunes Connect allows you to manage and edit many aspects of your application. However, its important to understand the impact changes on your application, depending on its state.

Rejected Developer

If you need to send a new binary file for your expression before it is reviewed by the App Store development team, you can refuse the status of your application to the developer. To do this, record in iTunes Connect , click on Manage your application, then click on the “Reject Binary” application summary view.

Keep in mind that changing the status of your application to the developer is rejected while it is in the review process removes your application from the viewing queue. The review process will start from the very beginning after you resubmit your binary file.

UPDATE : according to the autonomy comment below, it looks like the policy has changed, and now you can reject the binary when its status is In Review . I left my original answer below for reference:

The answer to the question is NO. You cannot send a new binary when the application is in review . You can reject your application (Developer Rejected) while it is still in the Waiting for review state, as a result of which it will go back to the viewing queue when resubmitted. When the application is In Review , you will have to wait for its acceptance or rejection by Apple.
