Will the VB6 application run on Windows 10

We have an outdated application (VB, .NET 2.0, Vs2005 COM dlls) that works fine in window 7, now what problem can we see if we go to windows 10, I read the link

and it mentions that "your application should not depend on VB6 runtime," but again in this link that it supports

My question is: am I looking at the correct document or can someone share the correct link

The first link only applies to applications requiring certification - this does not apply to what is actually supported, only what is recommended.

The second link clearly states that the VB6 runtime is supported on Windows 10.

VB6 runtime will be sent and will be supported on Windows 10 for OS lifetime

From Preparing for Windows 10 Windows Blog Post:

Windows is committed to compatibility. The Windows Compatibility Team reviews the user's telemetry and responds to feedback from Windows Insiders to ensure that existing applications work well with Windows 10. Windows 10 is designed to work with the software products Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1. And yes, all your favorite VB6 Runtimes will also continue to work.

We have a .NET 4.0 application that references a vb6-based application through COM Interop, and it works fine in Windows 10 without special permissions or user account management settings.

I created a new VB6 exe for Windows 7 that uses a WebBrowser control. Then I copied only my new exe to the new trial version of Windows 10 that I installed. (Did not copy DLLs, etc. Only my exe).

Ran my VB6 / exe program on Windows 10 and it worked! He loaded the webpage using (I think) the latest Windows 10 WebBrowser control.

So, at least I know that I can develop the VB6 WebBrowser stuff on Windows 7, and my exe works on Windows 10 ...

Please check, thanks. :-)
