No sound when playing video in ionic app on iPhone

I have an ionic application that plays videos posted on the Internet. When testing the application in a web browser and in the iOS emulator, the video plays with sound.

If I download the application to my iPhone using X-Code, the video plays, but there is no sound!

Does anyone have an idea why the sound works on the emulator, but not on the device itself? I checked that youtube videos play sound with sound.

For those who are wondering why the sound does not work in the application with the ionic representation for the iOS device , but it works in the iOS emulator, like me:

The ion view app comes with a fixed set of cordova plugins. If your application needs a plugin that the ion viewer application does not support, your application will not work in the ion view application. The sound plugin that I used in the emulator was not supported in the application with an ionic representation.

Edit: a list of supported applications with ionic representation can be found here: http://docs.ionic.io/docs/view-usage

Ok, I'm obviously an idiot! The mute slider on my iPhone is turned on. Not sure though why it didn’t drown out the youtube video, but disabled my video applications.
