How to disable infrared MDM on LG S3

I am trying to send infraRed template from my application to LG G3. Apparently, LG is not using the existing ConsumerIrManager , so I added LG's own QRemoteSDK to my project.

But the challenge

mIR.sendIRPattern ((int) frequency, timePattern);

returns a ResultCode.IR_PORT_DISABLED error. This error is documented as

IR functions can be controlled by Mobile Device Management (MDM). If Mobile Device Management is turned on, IR functions cannot be used. In this case, the QRemote API will return ResultCode.IR_PORT_DISABLED and displays a pop-up message with a toast with the warning "The remote control is not available by server policy."

MDM is new to me. Is this MDM somehow under my control? How can I disable this?

note that

  • LG remote application works
  • it is a non-company personal phone used at home to control our television.
  • he does not have a SIM card at the moment

I'm not sure if this is the right answer for you (because my phone is Samsung), but I think it's worth a try.

Settings → Security → Device Administration → Deactivate Android Device Manager.
