Can I open all the <a> tags in a new window / tab?

I am creating a web page with many links that should open in a new tab using target="_blank" .

Is it possible to apply this to all <a> tags by default, so I can save time by not inserting it into every link?

Yes - you can specify the base goal in the page title:

 <head> <base target="_blank"> </head>

If you need to override this for a specific link so that it does not open in a new window, you can do this manually by setting the target link to "_self" .
