How to quickly learn Drools or another rule

We are starting to create a module that will generate some recommendations based on some criteria. The criteria will be in the form of a set of business rules, and therefore I considered the possibility of using a business rule mechanism such as Drools (open source and java :-))

we need to quickly learn Drools (2-3 weeks) and implement the rules using JBoss Drools. What articles, tutorials, books, best practices should I follow?

What joekutner + said of the recent 1-hour Fosdem "introduction" video . Despite the comments, this is actually really good, but what you need is slides so you can trace them in a sensible way. Here is a link to Youtube-Video .

Quickly, you need to stop, but I found myself studying the material at the 25-minute mark, after spending several days playing and reading dolsols docs.

I can’t stress how well it helps me get a β€œfeeling” from drooling and just use my strength.

The Drools documentation is really good:

http://www.jboss.org/drools/documentation.html

There are two books from the PackIt publication that are not bad:

https://www.packtpub.com/drools-jboss-rules-5-0-developers-guide/book

https://www.packtpub.com/jboss-drools-business-rules/book

Here is a good article that discusses engine rules in general:

I suggest you just go through one book

Drools JBoss 5.0 Developer's Guide by James Taylor and Michal Bali

This is a very good book to check this out and a lot of material is available online.
