How to set up marker charts in a table

We test people and then conduct analysis for managers and HR teams. I have a chart that I created in Excel that I am struggling with (as a newbie) to recreate in Tableau.

Competency slider

I started with bullet charts, but the problem with this was that the bands were relative to the target value, and I could not see a way to associate them with variables. Also, stripes do not always go from red to green. There are some attributes in which a test can look for balance, rather than extreme (for example, perfectionism).

Instead, I took the path of stacked histograms to show the red, yellow, green type of analysis. I managed to create a complex histogram in the table, but I can’t put a marker to show individual performance. Here is how my data is currently: Data for the table slider

When I try to impose an invoice on a complex BandLimit, I get this, which is not what I need: Strengthening the table on the slider

What am I doing wrong? I would like to know how I can fix this, but also, if there are other ways I could do this (marker chart, etc.), and any tips that may arise for more efficient ways to display information.

Thanks.

Here is one way to get an estimate on what you have already created.

I assume that you want to add the arrow that you indicated in the Excel marker chart. We can do this with a second mark. I will continue and include your steps to make sure everything is on one page:

  • Place Competency on the row shelf.
  • Place the SUM(Band Limit) on the column shelf.
  • Put the Band in color.
  • Now we will make a new mark to get this arrow on the screen. Place Score on the column shelf after SUM(Band Limit) . Right-click on the Score tablet and take this measurement, but keep it continuous. Many things are likely to change automatically, but do not worry, we will return it under control in a minute. It is important to note that there are two marks on the scorecard: one for SUM(Band Limit) and one for Score .
  • Right-click the Score axis and click Double Axis . Then right-click on the axis of the glasses (which is now at the top of the view) and click Sync axis . Now you should have an axis above and below, and they should be aligned with each other.
  • Go to the SUM(Band Limit) section on the Marks map. Make sure the only thing in Color is Band , then change the label type to Bar. You should curl again with complex histograms.
  • Go to the Score section of the Marks map. You probably want all of your arrows to be the same color, so pull everything out of color. Click "Color" and select "black" (or whatever you like).
  • In the Score section of the Marks map, change the type of chart. Then select β€œForm” and select the arrow for the form to play the Excel chart. You can also select the Gantt Bar for a thin black line instead of an arrow.
  • Right-click on the axes and uncheck the Show header box if you do not want them there. If you decide to remove both of them, be sure to include some way to see the values, perhaps with a tooltip or by creating labels for one or both of the marks.
