This is not a feature of Xcode; instead, it is actually an iTunes feature to connect to.
All of your downloaded archives go directly to the Pre-Validation tab and allow you to distribute them to some specific users for beta testing through TestFlight (optional) before you install it for production.
This process allows you to debug the performance of your application and allows you to actually maintain a build log without publishing the application to the public. When you're all set up, you select the best from Prerelease collections and publish it for the real production environment, for the public.

And by the way, I think that your processing problem should be automatically resolved if you give it some time (maybe 24 hours or so), or you may need to uninstall the application and download it again. You may know that Apple is too busy to maintain its security in the App Store, right now;) !!!
