Failed to install "iOS 6.1 Simulator" Xcode 5

I want to run the application on both ios6 and ios7 simulators. I try to install the ios 6 sim, but I get this error:

Failed to install "iOS 6.1 Simulator" An unknown error occured. Please try again later.

I restarted Xcode but did not work.

Try resetting iOS 6.1 simulator from the menu "iOS Simulator → reset Contents and Settings ...",

then run the application in Xcode. It helped me.

Run it in the iOS 7 simulator (for you to launch it), go to the "Hardware> Device> select some iOS 6 device or earlier", then apply "iOS Simulator → Reset Content and Settings ..."

I got the same problem and solved using the following method:

  • Launch iOS Simulator

  • Go and click "iOS Simulator Menu"

  • Click "Reset Content and Settings"

  • Close the simulator and rebuild the application.

Above the screenshot shows a way how you can do this ...

I think this works for you ... !!!

I had this problem after upgrading to Xcode 5. Running the application on an accessible iOS 7 simulator and installing "Enable this mac for develop" pop-up checks solved the problem.

If you are using XIB or Storyboard. You must set the document type to "Xcode 4.6"

select storyboard → inspector (right panel) → first tab (identifier and type)

I had exactly the same problem. I am rebooting my Mac and now I am downloading it.

EDIT : I tried everything else. I'm sorry I could not answer by providing a more useful option.
