Android Play Store - error receiving information from the server. RPC: S-2: AEC-2

When installing a specific application, an error popup is displayed with an error: "appname" could not be loaded due to an error. (Error retrieving information from the server. [RPC: S-2: AEC-2])

I have already tried

1) device restart

2) clear data from google play services

2) delete google account and sync again

The fact is that every other application is installed and updated smoothly. I believe that something is wrong with this particular application (and not with google play. Let me know if I am wrong). Found a similar question on

One of my clients had the same problem. I sent him the link https://support.google.com/googleplay/troubleshooter/4592924?hl=en&rd=1 and solved the problem. So try:

  • Reboot the phone (this helped me in my case)
  • Check data connection
  • Make sure Download Manager is turned on.
  • Check the availability of your device.
  • Clear cache and data
  • Reinstalling Play Store updates.
  • Check for System Updates

In addition, if an old version is installed (or an application with the same package name, etc.), try uninstalling it. Let me know if this helps.

I had the same problem when one of my applications was published for renewal until the alpha version was published. Rebooting the phone helped.

Clear all data in Google Play services and remove all updates, the application will return to the factory version.

I was able to download applications after I did this.
