Hide project activity in gitlab dashboard for specific projects

Question

I was added to a new project, but just to see the code, and now I start to see every commit in my toolbar, and it pollutes my entire toolbar. Is there a way so that I can hide the activity of the project and just see the ones I want in the toolbar?

The ability to filter project activity has already been proposed (but not yet implemented) in:

• Hide project from main panel activity feed
• Watch the repo

There is no subscription mechanism yet.
