Chrome Dev Tools - can no longer click on items?

Question

For some reason, in recent versions of Canary (and I reinstalled it a couple of times), it no longer allows you to change elements in dev tools by clicking on them. The only way I can go through the DOM on the element tab is with the up and down arrow keys, which are saved forever.

I can use a magnifying glass to select things, but then I can’t move on to my children without using the arrow keys. Clicking on elements does nothing.

How to fix?

I saw it too ... it seems devtools might get into a funky state. Decision:

• open devtools
• click traffic light icon and click Settings
• scroll down and click Restore defaults and reload

This fixed it for me ...

I also had this problem. I noticed that although you cannot click on the element itself, you can in the white space to the left of it with the same effect.
