How to dynamically change the height of an ActionBar from a fragment

I have one action with multiple fragments. Most links in the navigation bar replace fragments with transactions. Material guides allow you to adjust the height to make room for more buttons, text. How to adjust the height of ActionBar support (not toolbar) from a fragment?
