To enable Eclipse to manage your JBoss application server, you need to install JBoss AS tools in Eclipse:

  • Launch an Eclipse instance.
  • Click Window> Preferences.
  • Expand the Server list and select Runtime.
  • In the Server Runtime Environment view, click Add.
  • In the New Server Runtime dialog box, click Download Additional Server Adapters.
  • In the Install New Extension dialog box, wait for the alphabetical list of server adapters to fill out, scroll down the list and find the JBossAS tools.
  • Click this entry to select it, and click Next.
  • In the View Licenses view, accept the license agreement and click Finish.
  • Click OK to accept the restart warning.
  • The network adapter starts loading, which may take several minutes. If you receive a warning about unsigned content, ignore it by clicking OK. After the server adapter is installed, click OK to restart Eclipse.

JBoss Tools is what you are looking for. This is a plugin that integrates jboss with eclipse, so you can start the server, deploy applications, etc.

You can install it using the eclipse marketplace, and there are tutorials that show how to set up a server in eclipse and deploy applications (e.g. http://www.mastertheboss.com/eclipse/jboss-eclipse/jboss-and-eclipse )
