Is there a way to get a custom “home” and “working” location through the Google API?

I work on Android with the Google Maps API, and the user has set a "Home" location in my application. I would like it when they click on the search field to automatically indicate the “working” and / or “home” location that they saved in the Google Maps application.

I understand that this question was asked here , but it was never answered, and that was a year and a half ago, so I hope that, perhaps, this data is more accessible.

To be clear, I am looking for some kind of location service API, a built-in or even a Google+ endpoint, where I could get this information. Or even if it is simply not possible at this time, it would be good to know.
