Underloaded Azure / Visual Studio Online and Visual Studio 2013 licenses

90 days ago, I formatted my computer and downloaded the trial version of Pro to fresh Winblows 7.

It ended and I followed. I followed this official guide to buy a user license.

Now I get this notification. (after clicking the "Check updated license" button) "The downloaded license is insufficient" (Even clicking on it 10,000 times did not help)

enter image description here

  • I cleared IE cache
  • I reseter USERdata, unisntalled VS 2013 and used the ISO provided by VS.COM to reinstall
  • The account is definitely the right one I'm logging in with.
  • Format windows, NO. Why should I? Windows is fine, installed 90 days ago.

The only reason I'm asking here is because no one at Microsoft knows what is going on. The Triedthe forums filed an error through the support gateway through the Azure ticketing system, and I called several technicians and professionals who had no idea. “They still called me back” - just ignoring me really.

I linked my visualstudio.com with Azure AD. Then I could add a Pro VS license for my user. I added an alternative login. I registered a user and returned. He came up with a stupid message, oh, create a free TFS server, choose a location? OK, canceled. And whoopie, the downloaded license is not valid. The user exited, cleared all IE data, devenv / clearuserdata. Come on in! Welcome! Please come in. OK, sorry, the uploaded user license is not enough.

What should I do instead of replacing my trial license with a valid license?

In my case, I was convinced that I made an attempt to change the situation at my discretion in various ways and keep activity in the journal. Forums, support tickets, chat messages, phone calls.

I rejected the cost of technical support 250USD, because the "Purchase Agreement" was not completed. I received an invoice in Dublin, so it is subject to distance agreements in Europe for online shopping. Not sure about American law.

In accordance with this law, it is clearly stated that if the purchase was made online, and one of the two sides is experiencing problems, and technical support should be free, a refund to the bank or a loan option is offered.

So, since my product was not registered, I do not have the right to paid technical support, since I do not have a product for support. I contacted my bank and payments for 2 licenses will be disputed and returned.

Since I am a business client for MSFT and my Bank, I could go further and contact my business insurance and claim back the days of business loss that currently make up my rate, which is about £ 3,150 of potential business loss. I would rather shame them here since it is priceless and will remain forever.

Microsoft has serious support issues and a lack of talent working on support.

In fact, we are faced with the same problem.

At first I contacted Azure support (paid for it), but they could not help me (from overseas Azure). However, the support engineer was so kind as to send me another link for Visual Studio support: http://www.visualstudio.com/en-us/support/cloud-services-assisted-support-vs . This connection did not actually work on the first day, but it did work the next day. Therefore, I admit that I was initially disappointed with the support.

However, through this link (the next day) I can send my problem. I got an answer after 8 hours with an answer that helped me solve the problem right away.

The answer is:

The user must install and then log in to this VS PRO using the same email address that was assigned the license in the VSO user concentrator. The user also needs to make a choice how to enter the \ license: OrgID or Microsoft account (MSA). The right choice will depend on the support of the Azure Active Directory VSO account. If so, the user should use the OrgID option. Otherwise use MSA.

However, be careful. If you click on the organizational account in “Licenses with a different Microsoft or Organization account”, you will be directed to a window in which the dominant part is a control for entering the Microsfot account. You can activate remakr so that your account does not exist. First you need to click "Log in to your Organization account" on the left side of the window.

Than everything worked smoothly.

The local license was updated with a monthly subscription (of course, an Internet connection). He said something was about to expire in 30 days, which was expected because of his monthly subscription. As long as you continue to pay your Azure bill, although you have an Internet connection to upgrade your license, you will continue to work with the IDE VS 2013.

That said: we apply this procedure 3 months ago, and then it did not work. At that time, we read Login to Visual Studio with an organization account, and not with a Microsoft account , which was virtually impossible (for now) with an organization account.

Therefore, I assume that some improvements have been made at the same time.

On the right side there is a link “Check for updated license” - did you try to click on this link? In addition, if you purchased a license, you can enter it manually by clicking on the link a little further "License with a product key", which you should have received after purchase.
