IOS SpriteKit split screen for lazy image exercises

Small background

My son Seth has a lazy eye, and there is evidence that his condition can be improved by playing video games. Tetris Video Game Helps Lazy Eye

Mostly he has poor attention in one eye and a perfect focus in the other eye. Over time, his brain began the process of disconnecting and ignoring the bad eye. He now has contact to fix the focus problem, but his brain is still used to ignoring that eye.

Thus, not every game will work. He needs something that makes him look at collaboration to combine and track images.

I can use Durovis Dive or Google Cardboard to separate the images that it will process.

He is a fan of Flappy Bird, so a clone of this will be a good start.

My idea is to see that the bird is visible only to the left eye, and the pipes are visible only to the right eye. The background is visible for both eyes to give the brain a link to bring the images together.

So here is the actual question

I ran into a problem trying to get a scrollable background and scroll pipes working on two screens that clamp on the right side.

How to create a screen as shown below

  • Does the background scroll sync in both windows?
  • Pipe clamp in the center?

Thanks!

Cropping a node (or two) can do the trick to mask the other half of the screen.
