MATLAB R2014b: rendering sections with lines in the same place

Since the version of R2014b, MATLAB now makes the graphics beautifully smooth (finally!)

However, this leads to a crash in the way it displays some of my numbers. If I build a line, use hold on , and then build another line exactly in the same place with a different color, the line will appear in a motley combination of both colors. Previously, the line was simply displayed as the last color that was applied at this place.

Here's an example of a track in blue, with some sections (steeper bits) showing a green line. In previous versions of MATLAB, the green lines would be continuous, but now some kind of blue line passes.

Is there a neat way around this in the new version, or should I make sure that I delete any existing lines before building in one place?

When replanning, new smoothing areas can go through several passes, try

set(gcf,'GraphicsSmoothing','off')

To find out if it restores the functionality you're used to.
