I am looking for a comparison of the possibilities of the initial list for different languages and, possibly, even for choosing these sizes. For example, I know that in Java 7, the default capacity of an ArrayList will be 10 (as soon as you insert something). If possible, the factor at which size increases will also be pleasant. For Java 7, this ratio is 1.5.
I am mainly interested in several other popular languages, especially Python.
