Can iOS apps interact with MFi accessories over Wi-Fi?

The name pretty much explains this. We are working on an MFi accessory that communicates with our iOS app via Bluetooth. However, we want to replace Bluetooth Wi-Fi. Provided that we can make the necessary hardware changes to the accessory, can we enable the iOS application to use Wi-Fi instead of Bluetooth to communicate with the MFi accessory?

MFi covers the Wireless Accessory (WAC) feature, which simplifies the process of connecting new accessories to your existing Wi-Fi network.

I do not believe that there is support that prompts the user to install or run the application when a WiFi device is detected, as you can, with an external infrastructure of accessories and devices with / 30pin / Bluetooth backlight.

Once you have a connected WiFi device and it is active on the network, you can use TCP / IP and Bonjour to search and communicate with the device without the participation of the MFi program.

If you are already a member of the MFi program, then it is probably worth exploring WAC.
