Error starting Xcode application on Mac 10.9 Mavericks

Question

I am using MacOSX 10.9.3 Maverick, xcode 5.1.1. I am trying to run the application in a simulator, but a black screen will happen and close xcode. This notice:

How to fix it?

Solution and workaround to avoid this problem:

Option A (solution). Make sure your / etc / hosts file contains this entry:

 127.0.0.1 localhost 

Option B (workaround). If you really have to have 127.0.0.1 mapped in different ways, for example, I also had to do some Facebook API checks that required installing it on local.mysite.com by disabling the Xcode debugger:

 Product -> Scheme -> Edit Scheme -> Debugger -> None 

will also allow this.

The problem may be caused by another application that has deleted the hosts file, for example MAMP PRO Restore the hosts file
