Downloading zip files does not work in Safari browser

I am working on downloading zip files. I worked with the following example (link) http://viralpatel.net/blogs/demo/js/create-zip-file-javascript/ It works in fire fox and chrome, but when it comes to safari, the file is uploaded as unknown. extension type.can anyone help get the .zip file on safari. thanks in advance

I could not find a solution, but the workaround I see at apple.com is to ask iOS users if they would like to write a link to the download page. You can also easily show the message to all iOS users, which say: "If the download does not work, make sure you have Dropbox installed (with a link) and try again."
