MS SQLServer Management Studio 2012; Error executing queries after installing SP 2

I searched for this whole problem and did not find any solutions.

This is the error I get:

An error occurred while executing batch. Error message is: Method not found: 'System.String Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Smo.Util.BytesToHexString(Byte[], Int32)'.

I had no problem with this before installing the update for Windows Service Pack 2, and I need this to work for my class. My instructor also does not know how to fix this, except for reinstallation, which is my LAST .

I know that these are not my requests, as they worked perfectly before this update.

Please, help

I had exactly the same problem on a clean installation of SQL Server 2014 (Express Edition) and it turned out that restarting the server itself fixes the problem. (In Management Studio, right-click on the server at the top of the tree in the object explorer and select "Restart" or just restart the service ...)
