Sometimes I need to add new fields to the index in ElasticSearch. When I do this, I create a new index, update its display, reindex into this new index, and then replace the aliases with the old index before deleting the old index.
It is very easy to check if the counters match between the old index and the new index, but in case the counter does not match, it was a pretty ad-hoc process of finding which documents are missing. Is it possible to quickly split two indexes (or document identifiers in the indexes) ?
