What is the TextTracks tab in Network Chrome Inspector?

I recently noticed the TextTracks tab on the Network tab in the chrome web inspector. enter image description here

After some investigation, I never saw any resources appearing there, and I could not read / guess what might appear there and how it could be useful.

So what are these TextTracks?

Well, this is for TextTracks :

WebVTT format (text tracks for web video) is intended for marking the resources of an external text track.

The main uses of WebVTT files are video content subtitles.

Used to transfer text and subtitles for video, for example:

00: 11.000 → 00: 13.000

We are in new york

00: 13.000 → 00: 16.000

We are actually at the Hotel Lucerne, right on the street

00: 16.000 → 00: 18.000

from the American Museum of Natural History

Here's a tutorial about it in which you can see it in the Chrome developer tools.

For filtering time- based textual information for HTML5 multimedia elements. For instance. chapter information, subtitles, etc.

 <video src="foobar.ogv"> <track kind="subtitles" label="English subtitles" src="subtitles_en.srt" srclang="en" default></track> </video>
