Why is the name of the language "Clojure"?
I played a little Google, asked in # clojure. So far no luck.
Rich Hickey (he is the designer of Clojure) comments on this 1st wiki link link:
Have you chosen a name based on the beginning of the word "close" and replacing "s" with "j" for Java? It seems pretty likely, but it's good to be confirmed. The name was chosen unique. I wanted to include c (C #), l (lisp) and j (java). As soon as I came up with Clojure, provided that the pun was closed, the available domains and the huge void from googlespace, it was an easy decision.
