How to access Kindle Highlights (API?)

I want to create a website that will allow you to follow other people. Is this possible, is there any kind of Kindle Highlights API program?

Thank.

Shameless Connection Warning.

I wrote a small PHP class that can help with this: Kindle_Highlights

You can get it on github .

Comments / suggestions are welcome to improve it.

I will improve / expand this over the next few weeks, but just like you, you should be able to get bright highlights.

It will be a terrific web service. Amazon does not offer api for this. You can read public videos online at kindle.amazon.com, however you cannot integrate any public moments into your applications through the API. It seems that the new Kindle Developers Kit is designed exclusively for creating applications on the Kindle, and there is not even an api method for accessing the public keywords in this kdk.

This does not specifically answer the question, but I was looking for means to extract and publish the file "My Clippings". In the end, I wrote a small PHP function to extract the contents (author, title, location, page, date, selection) into PHP variables through a regular expression to do what I like. Perhaps someone would be useful for future projects.

You can always simply clear the book page at kindle.amazon.com. I wrote a script in js for this , and then packaged it as a Chrome plugin that lights up on the Kindle book page, but (of course) Amazon just updated the DOM a week or two ago, and now it needs to be updated to reflect the new semantic structure. This underlines the weakness of this approach. = \

I hope someday Amazon will provide us with an API, although I suspect that this may conflict with their agreements with publishers.

The user can see their main points on the network after logging in by going to the "your main points" page. As far as I know, the API does not exist, and there is not any OAUTH thing that you could do at the moment. The best solution for you would be to get the amazon username and password and clear them from this page.

This is better than nothing, but the real API will open up many interesting ideas that I had in full swing.
