How to stretch a table across multiple pages

Question

I have a table (several rows, several columns, see below) whose length exceeds one page. How can I tell LaTeX to continue on the next page.

• Adding \ newpage does not work

• In manual mode, “end” and “reopening” the table works, but it is very tiring, since the table will have many pages.

  \begin{tabular}{lp{13cm}} AAAAAAAAAA & FOOBAR FOOBAR FOOBAR FOOBAR FOOBAR\\ BBBBBBBBBB & FOOBAR FOOBAR FOOBAR FOOBAR FOOBAR\\ CCCCCCCCCC & FOOBAR FOOBAR FOOBAR FOOBAR FOOBAR\\ ... ZZZZZZZZZ & FOOBAR FOOBAR FOOBAR FOOBAR FOOBAR\\ \end{tabular}
