Hierarchical-Model-View-Controller (HMVC) examples?

I am interested in representation-abstraction-control? (e.g. Hierarchical-Model-View-Controller (HMVC)) An architectural template for building complex user interfaces (GUI or web) and wondered if anyone knew of any examples in the wild where I could read the code ?

I know the JavaWorld article and its associated letters given in the wikipedia article with presentation-abstraction-control .

In the php world, I know several methods that can qualify as HMVC. All of them allow you to call the controller and display the results from the view. Calls can be nested endlessly by creating widgets in widgets.

I wrote the HMVC framework some time ago for J2EE and FreeMarker:

and recently another one for Javascript:

These are fairly โ€œexperimental,โ€ but may have academic applications.

As I understand it, the Cairngorm framework for Adobe Flex is just an example of an HMVC implementation. It is open source, so you can find out more information and download the code on the Adobe website .

APF-Webframework - http://adventure-php-framework.org/Page/001-Home - has been using HMVC since many years and has a very experienced and interested developer. Only a small community is a little discouraged.

I wrote an HMVC structure in PHP called Alloy:

It is quite lightweight and has a modular structure.
