Eclipse - black background in javadoc popup

I am using Elementary OS based on Ubuntu 12.04 and Eclipse Luna. The background color of the javadoc pop-ups is black, and the font color is dark gray, so it is not readable. I tried changing the background in eclipse settings, but it did not change. Then I used google and found a solution that I need to change the bg color hint. So I did it. But still no change. Does anyone know how to change this color?

I had the same issue with Ubuntu 16.04 and Eclipse Mars. I solved the problem by adding the following lines to eclipse.ini:

- launcher.GTK_version

As a KDE user, you must change the background color of the tooltip using System Preferences . Switch to

App Apperearence → Colors (menu on the left) → Colors (Colors tab on the right side)

and adjust the colors of the Background image and the Tooltip text . In your case, you need to configure the tooltip fold.

The parameter is in the GNOME UBUNTU setting in the settings.
