Launch iPhone Standby Applications

Starting with IPhone OS 3.0, MotionX GPS is capable of recording a GPS track in sleep mode. After you press the sleep button at the top of the phone, the application continues to receive GPS coordinates and record them. Does anyone know how they can do this? I only know about the way to save sound in standby mode.

You need to start a timer that plays a sound every 10 seconds. But the sound may be quiet.

[UIApplication sharedApplication] .idleTimerDisabled = YES should do this

I heard that [UIApplication sharedApplication].idleTimerDisabled=YES will leave a light on the screen, (after the user presses the Sleep button), as a result of which the battery runs out.

But I have not tried it myself, so anyone who is worried will fix it if it is wrong.
