Is there a CouchDB service provider?

I would like to learn about CouchDB and think about whether there is a host provider offering CouchDB services. If you used one, please tell us in detail about your impressions.

Update:

I found that CouchDB is available on Ubuntu on a piece of VM. I am interested in any experience with the VM solution and accessing data using .Net. Is a hybrid solution possible with a .Net web server and CouchDB REST calls on Linux? What additional security measures should you have taken. Was there a cross site problem?

An old question, but still appears in a Google search, so I want to post an update. Couchone hosting is now at http://www.iriscouch.com/ - it is still free hosting for couchdb.

couch.io is a beta version (currently for invitation only) of CouchDB managed hosting and support. They offer affordable Apache Couch DB. However, the easiest way to learn CouchDB is to run it locally. If you're on a Mac, check out CouchDBX , an application that provides an easy-to-use graphical interface to start / stop a local instance of CouchDB.

I am a .NET developer and I played with CouchDB. It works for me on an Ubuntu server in a Hyper-V virtual machine on a Hyper-V server, and I made calls with C # code to it. It worked fine for me to connect, except that it is on another machine (however, it will be deployed).

Today I just installed CouchDB 0.10 on a 64-bit version of Windows 7. It seems to work fine in place. However, I was unable to replicate from my server. The server runs an older version, which I build from the source, so this can be a problem.

I would recommend installing it on Windows. It was pretty painless. Here are the downloads you'll need: http://wiki.apache.org/couchdb/Windows_binary_installer . I installed the 32-bit version of everything. Once all of this has been installed, just run โ€œStart CouchDBโ€ in the โ€œStartโ€ menu. It runs a batch file.

  • Cloudant offers many CouchDB hosting options based on CouchDB's distributed open source fork, BigCouch. Options range from free soft cover plans to 250 MB, paid plans on a shared cluster starting at $ 15 per month, and dedicated cluster solutions.

  • CouchOne offers free hosting using individual instances of CouchDB. The service is in open beta.

As a transport layer, porting couchdb JSON through REST through an HTTP unix server couchdb is perfectly accessible from the Windows.net client.

To get started, you can choose Amazon EC2 AMI for ubuntu using couchdb and pay only for the uptime of this machine.

You can use Cloudant, it is compatible with the Apache CouchDB project, so you can use any driver that uses CouchDB as a storage mechanism. You can implement Cloudant very easily using Bluemix , here you can find an example of implementing Cloudant in Bluemix

Bluemix offers a free trial
