Visual Studio project template for JavaScript / VBScript?

Is anyone lucky to find a Visual Studio project template for JavaScript and / or VBScript? I would like to use VS as my script IDE, but give up on the lack of integration.

I hope someone else is as upset as I am and have already come up with a solution.

  • File-> New-> New Website (Shift-Alt-N).
  • Select "Empty Website" (ignore other controls)
  • right-click solution explorer, select "add new item"
  • select HTMLPage (name it index.html).
  • right-click the solution, select "add new item";
  • select jscript file.

If this is not what you are looking for, could you elaborate?

VisualStudio 2008 sp1 greatly improved javascript support. It's not perfect, but it does a good job of formatting, syntax highlighting and intellisense. There are a few things that would be nice, like automatically creating a document, but for the most part it works as well as any other js-ide.

In addition to jayrdub's answer, VBScript intellisense and formatting were officially supported for the last time in Visual Studio 2005. But then it was added for Visual Studio 2008 SP1 at the request of the user community.

So, if you are not using RTM VS 2008, you should not have a big problem.
