ILMerge and localized resource assemblies

We have an application whose structure during compilation looks something like this:

  • Foo
    • NB-NO
      • Text.resources.dll
    • SV-SE
      • Text.resources.dll
    • Bar.dll
    • foo.exe
    • Text.dll

Can i use ILMerge? How would you do that?

I asked my version of this question and eventually received / implemented the answer: Is it possible to deploy with several Windows Forms languages (ILMerge and satellite assemblies / localization)?

Hope this helps.

Disclaimer: I work for a company that makes Dotfuscator.

There may be other alternatives that I don't know about, but I'm sure ILMerge does not.

An alternative would be to use Dotfuscator Pro, a commercial product that, as I know, will correctly link assemblies and correctly link any satellite resource assemblies for a set of input assemblies. A free trial is available so you can test it and make sure it works in your specific scenario.

According to one of the comments here , if you are ready to refuse intellisense or, possibly, support separate parallel msbuild files, you can make your DLL files "netmodules". This course assumes that you have the source code for your DLLs.
