Turn a private Slack channel into a public channel

Is there a way to make a private Slack channel public?

This has not changed. You still cannot convert a private channel to a public channel.

Rename the private channel to something else and create a public channel with the same name.

Although not clean, here's how I did it several times:

• Rename the private channel (& hello → & hello-legacy)
• Create a new public channel (#hello)
• Send an @channel notification to & hello-legacy with a link to the new public channel #hello
• Archive of the old private channel & hello-legacy

Note. Although you can make a public channel private, there is currently no way to convert a private channel to a public channel.
