Lion-like scrollbar with jQuery?

Does anyone know a jQuery plugin that does scroll bars for Mac OS X Lion for each browser?

Antiscroll is probably one of the best plugins available that recreate Mac OS X Lion scrolling in every browser.

Some of the great features of Antiscroll :

  • Goes on and off
  • Container size can be dynamically adjusted and scrollbars will adapt
  • Supports mouse wheels, trackpads, other input devices natively
  • Shows scroll bars when hovering.
  • Support IE7 +, Firefox 3+, Chrome, Safari, Opera

To make it look more like Lion, you can configure it to only display the panel when the div of the track freezes, and make sure you use the animateEase function.

Oh, and for Apple’s added convenience, change the scroll direction so that down up and up doesn't work :-)

On the day Leo was released, I really liked the scroll bar in the OS. Browsers already have a smooth default scrollbar, but I was thinking, what about their Windows users;).

It is still under development, but it can help you: OSX Scrolling

Based on tinyscrollbar , but I made some adjustments. You can enable autohide (for example, in the OS). Just look at the source files.

This plugin actually replicates the scrollbar more accurately than antiscroll or nicescroll .. etc.

The plugin allows you to fully control the scrollbars (currently only vertical) and does not require mousewheel.js (as most plugins do). Removing this dependency was the main goal of my version.

It also listens for a scroll event (as antiscroll does). All the other plugins that I found lacked resizing and freezes on the scroll bars. My version includes an example showing how to achieve this effect.

There are optional (pseudo-) scrollEnded "clicked" listener events that fire when a user scroll completes or when a scroll key is pressed.

This plugin also allows for almost any imaginary style and customization of the scroll bar, like arrow-arrows (up-down-arrows).

Alpha

This is still alpha (publication time), but development will continue over time.

It uses a simple approach to create scrolls inside its own element. Thus, you do not need to add additional elements to make them work.

In this you have scrollbars, such as on a Mac, and they are very simple to install. You can basically apply any skin that you like using css.
