UTF-16 on cmd.exe

I created the directory “• ◘▬¨ŤlCęół ♥ ☺☻0" and I would like to make it visible with the dir / b command. So far, the chcp 10000, chcp 10001, and chcp 65000 (utf-8) commands have not worked (the original name was displayed as "The system cannot write to the specified device" or with an empty string, or the Unicode characters were replaced / ignored. Reason and how to fix it? The official documentation does not help :(

Yes, I just solved my problem. It was a default font error in cmd.exe that could not control Unicode characters. To fix this (windows 7 x64 pro):

  • Open / run cmd.exe
  • Click on the icon in the upper left corner
  • Select properties
  • Then the Font panel
  • Select "Lucida Console" and click "OK."
  • Write Chcp 10000 on the command line
  • Finally dir /b

Enjoy the clean release of UTF-16 with hearts, Chinese characters and more!
