How to digitally sign PDF with PHP

After some searching for how I could sign a PDF using PHP, I could not find a working solution. Does anyone know how to do this? Or do you know a third-party service that can sign a PDF for us?

Setasign seems to be offering a commercial solution for signing already created PDF files - http://www.setasign.de/products/pdf-php-solutions/setapdf-signer/sign-pdf.php

Alternatively, TCPDF (Google, it will not allow me to post a second URL), allows you to create signed PDF files on the fly.
